There is one worldwide currency, however, localities often mint coins with their own heraldry. Coins from the old world were not this way. Any coinage found from the old world must be exchanged; it cannot be spent anywhere.

A year is made up of 350 days.

Each year is divided into 10 35 day months.

Each month is divided into 5 7 day weeks.

Every fifth year has a 351st day.

The Syserian day is of no fixed length. Each day ends and the new one begins when the first three stars are visible in the sky. Whether or not it is precisely 24 Earth hours is unimportant; it is close enough to track time this way.

Due to the planet’s offset (wobbly) axis of rotation, the seasons have less to do with local weather than is typical, though they average out to be roughly the same.

There is a network of crystal towers that are linked through the planet core. These towers allow the kyanite cilicate crystals as well as the isis crystals to function. This has no effect on crystal balls or scrying; it is not the same thing.

An owner of either type of crystal can tap another to communicate with the owner of another crystal. Once this is done they can communicate freely from any distance in the world. The crystals do not function either as a sender or receiver if the user leaves Syseria’s atmosphere.
